Crosadelic Originals

Funky BrosOl’ school funk

In Ohio I met my long lost cousins, the apostles Ron and Don Crosby. Through their guidance, and extreme skills on guitar and bass, I learned to understand the funk. After being baptized in the P, I put away my semi-hollow jazz guitar and bought a Fender Stratocaster. I turned up my amp and let the feedback flow through. I imbibed of the chalice and let the vibrations guide me. Together, along with Kev “dog” Watkins on drums, we became Crosadelic.

So it was written in my bio on the “About” page of this site. To elaborate, our Band of Brothers, Ron, Don, and Darryl Crosby + Kevin Watkins have been funking out, off and on, since funk was young. Our influences include artists as diverse as P-funk, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Fishbone, Prince, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Living Colour, Marcus Miller, George Benson, and John Coltrane.

Ten years into the “new” millennium we’ve decided to work together writing and recording original material for our own edification. Fortunately for you, I’ll be sharing some of this material online, as it’s produced, for your enjoyment. Feel free to download and share these sounds without worry of being dragged from your home by RIAA thugs for piracy. But remember, we still own the copyrights so don’t even try it!

Seeing as how the four of us have worked and recorded individually and with numerous groups and musicians through the years, I’ll be adding just about anything that has one or more of us participating and listing the players involved with a special emphasis on the new stuff coming out of the funk house.
